Despite having an all-star cast including Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones, the Ghostbusters reboot is getting a lot of hate.

The film’s trailer quickly became the most disliked trailer on YouTube, leading to Sony changing their marketing strategy a fair bit.

Recently, they released four character videos, detailing each team member’s personality from the perspective of director Paul Feig and the cast.

Surprisingly, each video consists of a lot of new footage, revealing more of the film’s plot; like in the original, the world will first reject the idea of Ghosts and the Ghostbusters, but will eventually need them to save New York from a Stay-Puft-like ghost.

The cast appeared on Jimmy Kimmel alongside the cast of the original, with Bill Murray praising the new film, saying it's a “tough movie to pull off”. An extended clip was also shown, as well as all eight of them dancing to the theme tune.

Recently, Feig asked people to “stop calling it a chick flick”, while Dan Aykroyd praised the film, angering fans of the original.
