Glastonbury 2016: Coldplay allegedly headlining for the fourth time

Glastonbury Festival tickets sold out in just over half an hour this year and - as always - rumours surrounding who will headline the Worthy Farm bash have been growing in momentum.

According to reports in The Sun, Coldplay are set to headline in 2016, Michael Eavis having booked them in for a two-hour slot.

A source told the tabloid: “Michael likes getting things sorted as early as possible and having a solid, reliable Sunday headline act to send people home happy is a massive part of the booking process.

“Coldplay are Glastonbury veterans and will have no problem filling a two-hour set that punters will love.”

Glastonbury Festival were contacted but were unavailable for comment as they are currently focussing on their Oxfam auction as well as Michael’s birthday this weekend.

Coldplay previously headlined the festival in 2002, 2005 and 2011, having performed lower down the bill in 1999 and 2000.

The ‘Yellow’ hitmakers are currently the bookies favourites, with Adele and Foo Fighters close behind. You can see the full list here.
