Harry Potter fans think they've found a huge plot hole in the Fantastic Beasts film trailer

Harry Potter fans have pointed out a significant plot hole in the newest Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald trailer.

Since the promo for the forthcoming film in the franchise has come out, fans have gone into a frenzy.

However, it wasn't necessarily for positive reasons.

In the latest trailer for the Harry Potter spin-off series, the Minister of Magic and other men are seen apparating - a form of travel used by witches and wizards - at Hogwarts.

The problem with that particular scenario is that author JK Rowling declared that no one can apparate into the grounds of Hogwarts.

There is one exception, however: headmaster Albus Dumbledore is allowed to apparate there.

In the Harry Potter books, apparition at Hogwarts is blocked to keep out evil figures like Voldemort or Grindelwald.

The apparent contradiction has divided opinion; while some people thought it was possible that the rule didn't exist yet because the franchise takes place before Harry Potter, others quoted Rowling about the rules saying, "the castle and grounds have always been protected with anti-apparition charms."

One user supported the idea that the "precautions" weren't yet set in place.

While others were outraged.

One user even came up with an alternative theory saying, "What if events in this movie ARE the reason you can't Apparate onto the Hogwarts grounds HMMM."

The new film will feature Jude Law starring as Hogwarts headmaster Albus Dumbledore and Johnny Depp portraying the Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald.

Fantastic Beasts 2 will arrive in UK theatres on November 16.
