Hellboy 3: Ron Perlman says Guillermo del Toro sequel will 'probably never happen'
'Though you never say never never'

For fans of Hellboy, there's always been a lot of hope surrounding the titular character's return to the big screen. Unfortunately, actor Ron Perlman is not as optimistic.
“[Hellboy 3] probably will never happen," he told Variety while promoting the second series of Amazon Prime's Hand of God. He did add: "though you never say never never.”
Since the second film, Perlman has been a big advocate for a follow up, as has director Guillermo del Toro, who said that Hellboy 3 will go ahead if Pacific Rim 2 does.
Recently, it was confirmed that the sequel to Rim was indeed going ahead after a turbulent production period, it just has a new director.
The chances of Hellboy 3 ever happening really do seem to be almost none-existant now Perlman has pretty much given up, and with Del Toro having such a busy slate, it seems like it will never happen.
Of course, there's always hope. Perlman is releasing the upcoming film Pottersville underneath his own studio, Wing and a Prayer Pictures, so he could do it through that, right? We can only hope.
