The first trailer for this year's Cannes Palme d'Or winner I Daniel Blake has been released.
British filmmaker Ken Loach's latest film is a drama focused on a middle-aged widower in northern England struggling to work or claim government benefits following a crippling heart attack.
Written by frequent collaborator Paul Laverty (The Angels' Share, Jimmy's Hall), the award-winner stars Dave Johns as the struggling character of the title. Hayley Squires and Dylan McKiernan co-star.
While receiving acclaim following its initial premiere at this year's Cannes Film Festival, many were left underwhelmed by 79-year-old Loach's victory feeling that superior films had been left unrewarded (German comedyToni Erdman , Jim Jarmusch film Paterson ).
