IKEA recreated Kubrick's The Shining in a showroom
Complete with blinking Årstids
IKEA Singapore has offered its own version of the infamous tricycle scene from The Shining, seeing a toddler cycle around one of its labyrinthine showrooms after closing.
Cashing in on Halloween and advertising the store's late opening hours, the commercial is fairly solidly executed, with lights blinking, the line 'Come pay with us Danny…' being genuine capitalist terror and the Grady twins possibly proving even more creepy in this version.
The main think to take away from this though is that in Singapore they pronounce Ikea "eee-kay-ah".
They might have considered heading to the food hall for some real horror, where those 95p meatballs are served (I don't mean that, those things are weirdly delicious).
