Filming has begun on the sequel to It, the Stephen King adaptation directed by Andy Muschietti, with an all-new cast on board.

Unfortunately, one of the actors – James McAvoy, who plays the adult version of Jaeden Lieberher’s Bill Denbrough – has already had some trouble on set.

While battling Pennywise, McAvoy managed to injure himself, revealing on Instagram that managed to have a double thigh strain.

“In the wake of underwhelming public concern but a couple of weirdly concerned internet celeb sites I’d like to let you all know that I’m doing just fine,” he wrote alongside an image of his legs with cold packs on them.

“Slight double thigh strain, caught it early, no worries. Pennywise look out.”

Last month, Warner Bros. released an image of the cast – also including Jessica Chastain, Bill Hader, and Isaiah Mustafa doing a table read. Bill Skarsgård, who plays Pennywise, was absent from the photo, no doubt plotting revenge against the Loser’s Club somewhere.

It: Chapter Two will also bring back the original child actors, who will play their respected characters during flashbacks. Xavier Dolan and Jess Weixler have also joined the cast.

Muschietti returns to direct the sequel, which reaches cinemas 6 September 2019.
