Jacob Tremblay from Room’s Critics’ Choice Awards acceptance speech is a total heart-melter
Jacob Tremblay did a stunning job conveying a skewed sense of reality despite being just nine years old in surprise hit Room, and on Sunday night earned a Best Young Actor at the CCAs.
"Woooooah," he said as he reached the microphone, which had to be adjusted for his tiny stature. "This is super cool. This is the best day of my life."
The audience was already swooning, and the “awwhs” only grew louder as he very graciously and professionally thanked the judges and acknowledged his fellow nominees.
"I first want to say thank you to all the critics who voted for me,” he said. “It must be a super hard vote because of all the other great actors in this category.”
"I also want to thank Team Room, who is Lenny, Emma, Brie, Ed, and all the other producers over there… I think that us working together made this movie come true, and this award doesn't just go to me for that - it goes to all of you guys as well."
He finished up the speech by letting everyone know that his award would be taking pride of place on his nightstand - next to his Millennium Falcon.
Sadly there won’t be a repeat performance of Jacob’s speech at the Oscars, which doesn’t have an equivalent category.
