The past few years have been something of a whirlwind for James Corden, the British personality currently hosting popular US series The Late Late Show.

Now, he’s set his sights on one of the best-loved children’s book characters of all time.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Corden is in talks to voice Peter Rabbit in a new film from Easy A director Will Gluck.

Rose Byrne is also in talks to join the project which will be “a modern interpretation centring on the rivalry between mischievous young hopper Peter Rabbit and Mr.McGregor, a senior trying to keep his rabbit-free garden.”

The film, not unlike 2014 sleeper hit Paddington, is expected to be a combination of live-action and CG animation. Gluck will rewrite the script that’s been penned by Rob Lieber (Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day).

Corden recently revealed that Kanye West has pulled out of appearing on his popular chat show segment carpool karaoke on a number of occasions. Other participants in the viral-friendly slot have included One Direction, Mariah Carey and Michelle Obama.
