John Lewis 2015 Christmas advert infinitely improved with 'Dark Side' version

Sweet though this year's John Lewis Christmas advert is, it feels a bit contrived in how hard it yanks on your heartstrings, but fortunately, The Poke have added a welcome dose of misanthropy with a 'The Dark Side' version.

Superbly executed, it sees the advert's heroine spy not the Man on the Moon but Darth Vader knocking about the Death Star, and when she makes contact, he has no choice but to destroy planet Earth.

'Now, witness the power of this fully operational department store,' it closes.

John Lewis' annual commercial has become a key part of the build-up to Christmas, with there being speculation each year over which famous song will be covered by which artist.

This year it was 'Half the World Away' by Aurora, something many Oasis fans weren't happy about.
