The first trailer for Taika Waititi ’s Hitler satire, Jojo Rabbit , has been released.
Weeks after it was reported Disney was “concerned” the new release would “alienate” the studio’s core fanbase, a full look has bee unveiled – and it looks just as zany as people were expecting.
The film, set during the Second World War, revolves around a little boy whose imaginary friend is Adolf Hitler. Waititi – who also wrote the film – plays the Nazi leader.
Jojo Rabbit was acquired from Fox by Disney in the recent takeover and, according to a report in Variety
It’s Waititi’s first film since Thor: Ragnarok (2017). The New Zealand star will next oversee Marvel sequel Thor: Love and Thunder , which will introduce Natalie Portman as a female version of the superhero .

45 films you never realised were banned All Quiet on the Western Front (1930) The ban on All Quiet on the Western Front (1930) was ordered in Germany by Adolf Hitler himself who disliked its anti-war message. This came after an initial run during which members of the Nazi Party disrupted screenings by releasing mice into the cinema and, at one stage, attacking Jewish audience members. Censors in Austria, Australia, Italy and France also banned the film in the early 1930s.
