Kristen Stewart gives Daisy Ridley one key piece of advice for dealing with Star Wars fame
'Stay focused on what makes you happy'
Kristen Stewart has been offering newcomer Daisy Ridley advice on being a movie star after Star Wars: The Force Awakens rocketed her to global fame.
The Clouds of Sils Maria actress told the 23-year-old to concentrate on staying focused on what is best for her during The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast.
“Focus on the fact that you’re stoked ‘cause you’re doing the work that you want to do,” she said. “It’s literally mainly just about focusing on what makes you happy, and if losing your anonymity or whatever doesn’t make you happy, then focus on something else.”
Ridley plays the lead as Rey in JJ Abrams’ much-hyped film, which is on track to be named the most successful of all-time. Star Wars: The Force Awakens has already grossed more than $1billion at the international box office and was universally praised by critics.
Ridley said at the movie’s LA premiere: “It’s a very weird thing for a group of people to stand and take pictures and many, many people to ask questions. It’s cool. I’m like, ‘I’ve seen you in films!’ I think I’ll wake up tomorrow and say, ‘Did that happen?’”

Show all 23Stewart experienced similarly overwhelming attention aged just 18 when she starred as Bella Swann in the hugely popular Twilight franchise. She later chose to step back from the spotlight and work primarily in lower budget independent films like Still Alice and The Runaways.
Stewart has previously said that she has a “really, really, really strong desire to direct”.
