The new Lion King trailer side-by-side with the original film is something to behold
It's the circle of remakes
The trailer for Disney's remake of The Lion King has roared onto the Internet, setting social media alight.
Fans of the animation quickly noticed the striking similarity, with the minute-long clip being almost shot-for-shot re-imagination of the original.
Already, side-by-side comparisons have been produced, showing just how accurately director Jon Favreu has made the film. Watch below.
The cast also includes Donald Glover as Simba, Beyonce as the lioness Nala, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, Seth Rogen as Pumba, Billy Eichner as Timon, Alfre Woodard as Sarari and John Oliver as Zazu.
James Earl Jones returns as Mufasa, while Eric Andre, Florence Kasumba and Keegan-Michael Key voice Scar's three spotted hyena henchmen.
The film will follow in the line of successful live-action remakes, including Beauty and the Beast and The Jungle Book, the latter of which was also directed by Favreau.
