The clip offers up some footage that didn't make it into the first trailer, and though fairly brief does show the character speaking for the first time.

"We asked which character from Guardians of the Galaxy you wanted to see more of, and you told us: more Rocket!" the comic book company wrote alongside the video.

"It was almost too close to call, so we'll have more of ALL the Guardians for you - stay tuned."

The raccoon has been voiced by Bradley Cooper, who says of the character: "Rocket has some real anger issues," as director James Gunn adds: "Rocket is the heart of the movie in a lot of ways."

Marvel has decided to go down the comedy route with its latest team-up movie, with lead superhero Peter Quill/Star-Lord being played by Parks & Recreation's Chris Pratt.

The other Guardians consist of Gamora (Zoe Saldana), the adopted daughter of Thanos, Drax the Destroyer, a warrior played by WWE wrestler Batista and Groot (Vin Diesel), a tree-like monster.

Doctor Who actress Karen Gillan also features, playing the nefarious Nebula.
