Naomie Harris says she was groped in an audition by ‘huge star’ when she was younger
Actor also spoke about Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s work on the next Bond
Naomie Harris has said that she was once groped during an audition by “a huge star”.
The Oscar-nominated Bond actor told The Guardian that she was in her mid-twenties when the incident occurred.
“I was in an audition and he put his hand up my skirt,” she said.
“What was so shocking about it was the casting director was there and the director, and of course no one said anything at all because he was – he is – such a huge star.”
“Men know that they absolutely cannot get away with things now that they wouldn’t even have thought about before,” she added, referring to the anti-sexual harassment movement Time’s Up.
Harris, who stars in the forthcoming cop thriller Black and Blue, also told the paper about Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s involvement in the next James Bond movie, No Time to Die.
The Fleabag star and creator was brought on at the eleventh hour to polish the script for the film, later telling the Hollywood Reporter that she “can’t take credit for the movie that was written”.
Harris recalled: “If there was a problem with the script, then [director] Cary Fukunaga would always be like: ‘OK, well, I’ll just make a call to Phoebe.’”
