We're still so far from a new James Bond.

Daniel Craig is yet to even officially announce his departure from the franchise, but the rumour mills still crank away day and night; the spotlight perpetually focused on the likes of frontrunners Tom Hiddleston and Idris Elba.

The world is so ready for more Bond, in fact, bookies are already taking bets on who will step into the iconic role of Bond girl for the next film; with the current favourite being Australia's own Margot Robbie, star of The Wolf of Wall Street and Suicide Squad.

She currently holds 12/1 odds (via The Daily Star), ahead of Emily Blunt at 16/1, Emily Ratajkowski at 22/1, and Emma Watson at 40/1.

Could we do one even better, though? How about Margot Robbie simply for the next Bond? It makes a lot more sense, considering she's one of Hollywood's major players of the moment. And with Suicide Squad about to hit cinemas, it's pretty certain her name's soon going to be synonymous with "kickass".

Suicide Squad hits UK cinemas 5 August.
