A video has emerged of actor Nicolas Cage performing a decidedly angry rendition of Prince's classic song "Purple Rain" at a karaoke bar in Los Angeles.

The actor recently filed for an annulment from wife Erika Koike just four days after marrying her in Las Vegas, claiming that he was drunk at the time the marriage took place.

His karaoke session took place in LA's Koreatown, according to TMZ, where he belted out the lyrics to the Prince song with a more aggressive approach than the original version.

Cage filed for his annulment from Koike late last month, with documents stating that the pair had been “drinking to the point of intoxication”.

Watch the video, below:

Koike claimed that she was willing to cooperate with the annulment but said she was seeking spousal support for apparent loss of earnings.

Cage said that due to his intoxication, he “lacked understanding” and “reacted on impulse without the ability to recognise or understand the full impact of his actions”.

He added that Koike did not tell him about “the full nature and extend of her relationship with another person” and that “such conflict in personalities and dispositions that are so deep as to render the two incompatible in marriage”.
