Pet Sematary - trailer

Pet Sematary seems like it could be the scariest Stephen King adaptation yet.

The brand new trailer for the forthcoming horror film has been released, and it's not for the faint-hearted.

Pet Sematary tells the story of a doctor who moves to a small town (in Maine, of course) with his family and unearths an ancient burial ground that brings the dead back to life.

This new version of King's novel, which was originally made into a film in 1989, stars Jason Clarke, Amy Seimetz and John Lithgow, and has been directed by Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer (Starry Eyes).

The original film, now considered a cult, was released in 1989.

Pet Sematary will receive its world premiere at South by Southwest and will be released in UK cinemas on 5 April.
