Before Donald Trump’s inauguration, the current President announced he would definitely be running for office once again in 2020.

White that was perhaps already ballsy enough, Trump also announced the future campaign’s election slogan — Keep America Great! — replacing the original Make America Great Again.

As many cinephiles noted, that new phrase was also the exact tagline attached to the 2016 horror movie The Purge: Election Year, a series set in a dystopian future where crime is annually legalised for 12 hours.

For the fourth film in the series, a prequel titled The First Purge, the marketing team has decided to steal from the Trump campaign rather than vice versa.

The first poster for the film sees a red cap — which have become synonymous with the MAGA campaign — adored with the film’s title.

The promotional image also reveals the upcoming film’s release date, 4 July, which also marks Purge Night in the series (as well as the very real Independence Day). Marisa Tomei, Y'Lan Noel, and Joivan Wade all star.
