Rebel Wilson says she was ‘kidnapped’ at gunpoint in terrifying ordeal

Rebel Wilson has said she was abducted at gunpoint during a terrifying ordeal on holiday in Mozambique..

The Australian actor, 40, made the revelation while appearing on a new Sky One series called Straight Talking.

Wilson told host Ant Middleton that she was travelling with a group of women in a rural part of the African country when armed men ordered them off their vehicle.

“There was one time in Africa where I got kidnapped,” she said. “It was in rural Mozambique.”

“We were on this cattle truck and these men came on another truck with a lot of guns. [They pulled up] with the big guns and they were like, 'Yeah, you've got to get off your truck.'"

The armed men then took Wilson and the other women “to a house in the middle of nowhere” and held them there until the following morning.

“Luckily we weren't harmed and then, the next day, they came and said, ‘Your truck is ready now. You can go.'"

She continued: “We didn't ask any questions. We just got back on that truck and got out of there and crossed the South African border a few hours later.”

Wilson, who said she became “team leader” in supporting the women during the ordeal, added that she believed the men had “used” her truck “to smuggle illegal things”.

Visibly surprised by the story, Middleton told Wilson she should do “a hardcore action movie”.
