The Honey I Shrunk the Kids star, also known for his role in the original Ghostbusters films, was attacked on Thursday 1 October while walking near his apartment building on the Upper West Side in Manhattan.
A surveillance clip showed a man passing Moranis on the street and suddenly punching him, knocking the actor to the ground.

The NYPD referred to the attack as “random” and “unprovoked”.
