Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer

Marvel has permitted Tom Holland to announce Spider-Man 3, a film the actor is touting as “absolutely insane”.

Holland revealed the news during an interview with Inquirer, where he also let slip some key details about what Marvel fans can expect from the new sequel.

When asked if he was preparing to star in a new Spider-Man film following 2019 sequel Far from Home, Holland replied: “Yes is the answer to that question.”

The news is no doubt a relief considering just last year, Sony – who owns rights to the character – almost removed the web-slinging superhero from the Marvel Cinematic Universe after failing to strike a deal with Marvel studios.

Holland continued: “I’m super happy about it. We will be shooting Spider-Man 3 in July in Atlanta.

Without confirming specific plot points about the Phase Four release, Holland stated: ”Zendaya will most definitely be in the film.”

Zendaya plays Michelle Jones in the film – a character referred to as MJ. Holland said he’s “not too sure what [they’re relationship] will be”.

The character’s previous outing – the first MCU film to be released after Avengers: Endgame – starred Jake Gyllenhaal as the film’s villain.

Next on the Marvel agenda is Black Widow, which is looking like it will be delayed due to coronavirus.
