Tom Holland reveals new Spider-Man suit

Fans are convinced Tom Holland has teased a release date for the first look at Spider-Man 3.

Holland – who plays the titular superhero – shared a tweet yesterday simply reading: “14/01/21”, accompanied by a suggestive emoji.

Fans have been quick to theorise that the tweet could mean  a first look at the Marvel movie will be released on Thursday (14 January).

“SPIDEY?” wrote one excited fan, while another added: “We want Spider Man 3 trailer cmon.”

A third user wrote: “January 14, 21021. SPIDER-MAN TEASE YES?”

Others, however, have suggested that the date could be in relation to another of Holland’s forthcoming films, such as Cherry or Uncharted

Responding to those other suggestions, one fan wrote: “Seriously January 14 has been the date of Sony uploading trailers for Sony Marvel movies like Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer 1 & Morbius trailer 1.”

The highly anticipated third instalment of the Marvel franchise has been shrouded in rumours.

In November last year, Camila Pacheco – the Executive Marketing Director of Sony Pictures Entertainment in Brazil – stated that a first look at Spider-Man 3 was due to arrive in December.

Following the announcement, the Sony Channel Latin America shared a post suggesting that previous Spider-Man actors Andrew Garfield and Toby MacGuire could be joining Holland in the new film. The now-deleted post read: “Who is your favourite Spider-Man? You don’t have to choose – in the Marvel Multiverse, anything can happen.”

Asked about the possible reunion on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Spider-Man star Zendaya said that she “can neither confirm nor deny” the rumours.

Spider-Man 3 is due for release on 17 December 2021.
