Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer

Marvel fans think the studio has cryptically teased something huge in the background of the new Spider-Man film.

The possible Easter egg arrives towards the end of the sequel, which is titled Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Peter Parker (Tom Holland) is sween swinging past the old Avengers Tower on his way to see MJ (Zendaya) and, upon landing in front of the building – which is under construction – a sign can be seen in the background.

While the sign may have no bearing on the future of the MCU, some fans think it hints at the addition of a new bunch of familiar heroes in Phase Four.

So, what does the sign say? The words “We Can’t Wait to Show You What Comes Next” can be seen alongside the following: “1-2-3-?.”

The obvious thing this hints at is the fourth phase of the MCU – however, the question mark proves intriguing and it has fans convinced that the Fantastic Four could arrive sooner than expected.

More Marvel characters are expected to be inducted into the MCU following Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox – so could Avengers Tower be on the cusp of becoming the Fantastic Four’s headquarters?

More details are expected to be revealed at Comic-Con, which Marvel will be attending in San Diego from 18-21 July.
