Star Wars star Felicity Jones teases possible return for Rogue One character: ‘There’s unfinished business, for sure’
Actor appears hopeful about a potential return to the franchise in the future
Star Wars’ Felicity Jones has opened up about potentially reprising her role as Jyn Erso.
The actor – who starred in the franchise’s standalone 2016 movie Rogue One: A Star Wars Story – teased the possibility of her return in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
“I think it would be fascinating to see her [Erso] getting older and wiser and fighting the dark forces in the universe, of which there are many it seems,” she said.
Although some fans may point to her character’s death as an obstacle to Jones’s return to the franchise, Jones argued for its plausibility.
“I just keep saying that reincarnation is totally possible in the Star Wars universe,” she said. “I feel there’s unfinished business for Jyn, for sure.”
Rogue One performed relatively well in cinemas. The film scored an approval rating of 7.8 on film database website IMDb and an audience score of 84 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes.
Since the 2019 release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, there has been no indication of when the beloved franchise will return to the big screen.
However, the Emmy award-winning spin-off series The Mandalorian recently returned for season two.
