Star Wars: The Force Awakens' cantina music is actually a 'Shaggy intergalactic remix' about Jabba the Hut's infidelities

There exists a multitude of mysteries sprung from Star Wars: The Force Awakens. How did Maz Kanata get hold of Luke’s lightsaber? How was Finn able to resist a lifetime of indoctrination and desert the First Order? Who exactly are Rey's parents?

However, nothing is more pressing than the need to know this: what exactly was the cantina song playing in Maz Kanata's castle about? Good news! Wonder no more: for J.J. Abrams and the song's creator, Hamilton's Lin-Manuel Miranda, have revealed the answer.

Abrams made a surprise appearance at one of Miranda's regular #Ham4Ham sidewalk performances, done to entertain hopefuls in the last-minute lottery for Hamilton tickets, in order to celebrate Star Wars Day (AKA May the Fourth Be With You). The pair then launched into the world's first live performance of the cantina music Miranda himself had composed, after the pair had met at a Hamilton performance last year.

They also revealed some pretty fascinating background on the song; the track is titled "Jabba Flow", and is written entirely in Jabba the Hutt's native language Huttese.

The best part? The lyrics actually translate to "No, lover, lover; it wasn't me"; which Miranda explained essentially makes it a "Shaggy intergalactic remix". Furthermore, the song has now been made available to listen on the official Star Wars website, as well as being made available to download on iTunes.

We always knew Jabba was a fan of the ladies, but is it true? Is he really the unfaithful type? Shocking news, indeed.
