Star Wars 8: The Last Jedi footage seen in behind-the-scenes production trailer
Featuring Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, John Boyega, and Daisy Ridley
Disney’s latest D23 convention was quite something, filled with newly shown footage from Jon Favreau’s Lion King, Avengers: Infinity War, and Mary Poppins Returns.
However, very little has been released online. However, thankfully there’s one exception: a behind-the-scenes look at Star Wars: The Last Jedi footage has been given to the public.
Within the clip, Rian Johnson — wearing an incredible lobster embroidered jumper — can be seen directing Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, along with many more.
Also notable are the sheer amount of alien creatures that have been crafted for the film, which will seemingly rely heavily on physical effects, along with CGI. For The Force Awakens, JJ Abrams took a similar approach, favouring to combine the two, rather than favour one.
Also at D23, Hamill and Fisher were named Disney Legends, the Luke Skywalker actor saying of his co-star and friend: “I wish Carrie were here.
“She would be making me laugh and be off camera extending her middle finger – one of her favourite gestures. I really wish she were here. But, she would also want us to be having a good time and not be sad.”
Star Wars: The Last Jedi reaches cinemas this December. Previously, a proper trailer was released online.
