Steve Buscemi reacts to Jennifer Lawrence viral deepfake

Steve Buscemi appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert weeks after the death of his wife, Jo Andres.

The Boardwalk Empire actor was married to Jo Andres, a filmmaker, choreographer and artist, for more than 30 years.

Buscemi showed up to promote new series Miracle Workers, which he stars in alongside Daniel Radcliffe, and was praised for an entertaining interview that saw him watch the viral video of his face superimposed over that of Jennifer Lawrence for the first time.

Visibly disturbed, Buscemi quipped to laughs from the audience: "I've never looked better."

Andres gained recognition in the New York City performance scene of the 1980s, using film projections as a backdrop for dance performances.

In a 2009 interview with The Independent, Buscemi said his favourite work of art is “something by my wife Jo Andres. She paints, she makes films, she has done performance.”

Miracle Workers, also starring Geraldine Viswanathan and Lolly Adefope, begins in the US on 12 February.

Earlier this week, Liam Neeson cancelled an appearance on Colbert following a huge backlash to comments he made in The Independent.
