Your support makes all the difference.Paramount Pictures has released the first trailer for Suburbicon, a dramedy starring Matt Damon as a man whose quiet, suburban life is turned upside down when he gets involved with the mob.
The film has enviable talent both in front of and behind the camera, with Julianne Moore and Oscar Isaac co-starring, and George Clooney directing a script originally penned by Joel and Ethan Coen.
The official synopsis is as follows:
Suburbicon is a peaceful, idyllic suburban community with affordable homes and manicured lawns…the perfect place to raise a family, and in the summer of 1959, the Lodge family is doing just that. But the tranquil surface masks a disturbing reality, as husband and father Gardner Lodge (Matt Damon) must navigate the town’s dark underbelly of betrayal, deceit, and violence. This is a tale of very flawed people making very bad choices. This is Suburbicon.
The trailer sees Damon's character find a vicious side he didn't know he had as he stands up to the mob following his wife's death, hitting matireos with tyre irons and blowing up buildings. It ends with the humorous image of him escaping a blast on a village bicycle.
Suburbicon opens in cinemas on 27 October.
