Independent.co.uk has been given the worldwide exclusive rights to show a clip from Richard Curtis’ new film The Boat That Rocked.

The comedy movie, which focuses on the pirate radio phenomenon of the 1960s and stars Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Bill Nighy, Emma Thompson and Kenneth Branagh, isn't out in cinemas until April, but movie lovers can get an advanced look at a clip below.

The footage features a pivotal scene from the film, where the pirate radio DJs manage to evade government ministers who are trying to shut the station down. With the 'groovy' outfits, Rolling Stones on the stereo and pervading air of sticking it to the man, it's like 1968 all over again.
