The LEGO Ninjago Movie trailer: Jackie Chan kicks butt in latest toy spin-off
Also featuring the voices of Dave Franco, Justin Theroux, Michael Peña, Fred Armisen, Kumail Nanjiani, Zach Woods and Abbi Jacobson
With The LEGO Batman Movie currently receiving a warm reception by critics, thanks to its irreverent spin on the Dark Knight's mythology, it's inevitable the toy company would want another little piece of the action.
Cue The LEGO Ninjago Movie, based off the TV series launched in 2011, which spawned six series and an expansive merchandise range, while becoming a key part of the LEGO brand itself.
Most enticing for those unaware of Ninjago's history will likely be the involvement of screen legend Jackie Chan, here voicing kung fu master Sensei Wu.
He'll be leading a group of six ninjas - voiced by Dave Franco, Michael Peña, Fred Armisen, Kumail Nanjiani, Zach Woods and Abbi Jacobson - all LEGO Master Builders, as they attempt to defeat evil warlord Garmadon, the Worst Guy Ever.
Garmadon (Justin Theroux) also happens to be one of the ninja's dads, Franco's Lloyd; leading to an epic showdown between father and son, and a battle which can only be won if the ninjas learn to put their egos aside and pull together to unleash their true capabilities.
The LEGO Ninjago Movie hits UK cinemas 13 October.
