Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and his partner Lauren Hashian have welcomed a baby girl into the world.
The actor shared a photo of himself tenderly holding his newborn daughter to his chest and said he was proud to bring another “strong girl” into the world.
"Skin to skin. Our mana. Blessed and proud to bring another strong girl into this world," he wrote.
"Tiana Gia Johnson came into this world like a force of nature and Mama Lauren Hashian laboured and delivered like a true rockstar."
The former WWE wrestling star heaped praise on women – saying watching his partner give birth bestowed him with a newfound sense of respect for both her and womankind more generally.
"I was raised and surrounded by strong, loving women all my life, but after participating in baby Tia’s delivery, it’s hard to express the new level of love, respect and admiration I have for @laurenhashianofficial and all mamas and women out there."
The 45-year-old said he took part in the delivery process and urged other men to do the same.
“Word to the wise gentlemen, it’s critical to be by your lady’s head when she’s delivering, being as supportive as you can, holding hands, holding legs, whatever you can do".
Johnson argued child birth was the most remarkable moment a person can experience in life.
"If you really want to understand the single most powerful and primal moment life will ever offer - watch your child being born,” he said.
"It's a life changer and the respect and admiration you have for a woman, will forever be boundless."
He added: "Your crazy dad has many responsibilities and wears many hats in this big ol’ world, but being your dad will always be the one I’m most proud to wear.
"Oh and one more thing. you’re gonna love rollin’ in daddy’s pick up truck."
Johnson has been inundated with messages of support from fans on Twitter congratulating the couple on their new child. People nicknamed Tiana Gia “pebbles” in jest.
Tiana is the actor and his longtime partner’s second daughter. Their first child, Jasmine, was born in 2015.
Johnson also has a 16-year-old daughter, Simone Alexander, with his former wife Dany Garcia.
The former wrestler is starring in current American sci-fi monster film Rampage, which follows a team trying to prevent three animals infected with a dangerous pathogen from destroying Chicago.
