Thor: Ragnarok - Comic-Con Trailer

In a fairly bold move on Marvel's part, a sliver of early critical reactions to Thor: Ragnarok has already hit the web, with weeks until the film hits theatres.

Not that any of the studio's confidence seems to have been misplaced, since the early word on Taika Waititi's spin on the MCU seems to actually match the insane amount of hype currently circulating around the film; with its promotional campaign promising the funniest, trippiest Marvel entry yet.

Imprisoned on the other side of the universe, after his beloved Mjolnir is destroyed at the hands of Hela (Cate Blanchett), the Goddess of Death, the film sees Thor (Chris Hemsworth) bump into a much-changed Hulk (Mark Ruffalo).

Although, as many early takes have stated, one of the film's biggest standouts is Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie, described by Vulture's Kyle Buchanan as possibly the "swaggiest superheroine" of all time.

It doesn't seem to have beaten out the likes Guardians of the Galaxy amongst critics, but they've certainly made it clear you have an absolute right to be very, very excited about this film.

Thor: Ragnarok hits UK cinemas 24 October.
