Tom Hardy fuels speculation Spider-Man will be in Venom 2 following deleted Instagram post
Fans thinks it's all but confirmed that Tom Holland will show up in Sony sequel
Tom Hardy has fuelled speculation that Spider-Man will appear in Venom 2.
The British actor shared a fan-made poster on Instagram showing his villainous symbiote facing off against the web-slinger.
While there’s nothing harmful about sharing a piece of artwork, it was his decision to delete the post that got fans wondering.
ComicBook.com‘s Brandon Davis not only caught the Instagram post, but published a video theorising how Spider-Man could appear in Sony’s sequel, which will officially be titled Venom: Let There Be Carnage.
To back up his theory, he reminded viewers of the moment when Sony’s Amy Pascal stated that the timeline of their spin-off films were happening concurrently with those released as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe while sat next to a less-than-impressed Kevin Feige – the actual Marvel Studios president.
Months later, Spider-Man: Homecoming character Adrian Toomes AKA the Vulture – played by Michael Keaton – showed up in the trailer for Morbius, confusing fans even more.
Hardy’s deleted post is just another piece of evidence seemingly pointing to Spider-Man’s presence in the Venom sequel.
Spider-Man actor Tom Holland has kept Marvel fans busy thanks to a “chaotic” quiz he held on Instagram from coronavirus lockdown.
Meanwhile, Hardy took over kids channel CBeebies with a week of bedtime stories
Venom was released in October 2018 and was a huge box office success, grossing $856m.
The Andy Serkis-directed sequel will be released on 25 June 2021.
