Toy Story 4 teaser trailer

UPDATE: A second teaser has now been released, featuring new characters Ducky (Keegan-Michael Key) and Bunny (Jordan Peele).

The first teaser for Pixar’s Toy Story 4 has been released.

Depicting Woody, Jessie, Buzz, and friends all dancing in a circle in slow-motion, the harmony is interrupted by a new toy – a fork with some felt and bubblegum stuck on. “I don’t belong here!” he cries, before bringing the whole group tumbling down.

The teaser was also accompanied by an official synopsis, reading: “Woody has always been confident about his place in the world and that his priority is taking care of his kid, whether that’s Andy or Bonnie. But when Bonnie adds a reluctant new toy called ‘Forky’ to her room, a road trip adventure alongside old and new friends will show Woody how big the world can be for a toy.”

Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, and Joan Cusack all return as the voices of Woody, Buzz, and Jessie, while Tony Hale voices Forky. The film is directed by Josh Cooley, with Jonas Rivera and Mark Nielsen producing.

Hanks promised that the final scene of the film will be a “moment in history”, adding: “the way you record Toy Story, you’re in a room with the team that has created it. When I went in for my last day of recording, I wanted to have my back to them, because usually, you’re facing him so he can look right up and you can talk about it. But I didn’t want to see them and pretend they couldn’t see me.”

Toy Story 4 will be released in cinemas on 21 June 2019.
