'Freedom' trailer for Toy Story 4

A new trailer for Toy Story 4 has been released.

Pixar has offered a closer look at the forthcoming sequel, which sees Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, and Joan Cusack all return as the voices of Woody, Buzz, and Jessie.

The story sees Bonnie, who inherited Andy’s toys in Toy Story 3, add a reluctant new toy called Forky to her room. As the official plot synopsis describes, “a road trip adventure alongside old and new friends will show Woody how big the world can be for a toy”.

Forky is voiced by Tony Hale, with Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele voicing new characters Ducky and Bunny. The film is directed by Josh Cooley, with Jonas Rivera and Mark Nielsen producing.

Hanks promised that the final scene of the film will be an emotional “moment in history”, saying: “The way you record Toy Story, you’re in a room with the team that has created it.”

“When I went in for my last day of recording, I wanted to have my back to them, because usually, you’re facing them so he can look right up and you can talk about it. But I didn’t want to see them and pretend they couldn’t see me.”

Toy Story 4 will be released in UK cinemas on 21 June.
