The thriller, tag-lined “love is a tragedy waiting to happen”, follows a young couple whose wedding plans are upset by dark secrets from the past.

Murphy plays a psychiatric nurse called Susan, who appears briefly in the trailer as her character observes the deteriorating relationship between the newlywed couple who survive a traumatic car crash.

The film is due to be shown in select cinemas in the US next week, over four years on from the actress’s untimely death at the age of 32.

The movie, which is directed by Darin Scott, also stars One Tree Hill’s Shantel VanSanten, Betty Moyer, John Robinson, James Patrick Stuart and Robert Blanche.

A verdict of accidental and natural causes was given at the time, however conspiracy theories have circulated since suggesting that her death was caused by deliberate poisoning.

Murphy’s father Angelo Bertolotti found traces of rat poison in her hair after suing the coroner’s office to obtain physical samples of his daughter’s body for testing.
