Universal has added two more characters to its monster movie series known as 'Dark Universe.'

The Phantom of the Opera and Hunchback of Notre Dame will now be added to the upcoming franchise that is being spearheaded by Tom Cruise action vehicle The Mummy which is receiving negative reviews from critics.

Director Alex Kurtzman revealed the news to Fandom, adding the characters to the already-confirmed list of Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, Dracula, Creature from the Black Lagoon and Invisible Man who'll be played by Johnny Depp.

Kurtzman also added which actors he'd love to induct into the universe, mentioning both Michael Fassbender and Angelina Jolie.

Next on the agenda is Bride of Frankenstein which is scheduled to arrive on 14 February 2019 under the guidance of Bill Condon who recently directed Disney's live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast.

While the titular bride is yet to be cast, Frankenstein's monster himself will be played by Javier Bardem.
