In a scene Pierce Brosnan has described as “a highlight of my acting career”, co-star Salma Hayek sends up the the absurdity of the male orgasm in upcoming movie Lessons in Love.

The film sees Brosnan play a sex-crazed poetry professor trying to mend his ways after a one-night stand with a student results in an unexpected pregnancy.

While lecturing him about his libidinous ways, Hayek’s character mocks the “stupid noises” men make when they orgasm, including “the bear” and “the sports commentator”.

"I think we did about two or three takes. It was extremely funny," Brosnan told Digital Spy of the scene.

"I wasn't quite sure how she was going to pull it off, and I don't think she was quite sure how she was going to pull it off.

"Needless to say, it was a disturbing moment, and it is one of the highlights of my acting career to be with Salma Hayek just having an orgasm in front of me - a kaleidoscopic orgasm.”

Going by the name How to Make Love Like an Englishman and Some Kind of Beautiful in other territories, Lessons in Love also stars Jessica Alba and opens in cinemas on 25 September.
