Yesterday trailer: New Danny Boyle film imagines world where Beatles never existed
The film, written by Love Actually‘s Richard Curtis, stars Himesh Patel, Lily James, Kate McKinnon, and Ed Sheeran
The first trailer for Danny Boyle‘s Yesterday has been released.
The film, written by Love Actually‘s Richard Curtis, follows Jack (Himesh Patel), a struggling singer-songwriter in a tiny English seaside town who realises his dreams may be too ambitious, despite the support of his childhood best friend, Ellie (Lily James).
After a freak bus accident during a mysterious global blackout, Jack wakes up to discover that The Beatles never existed – and he’s the only one to remember they ever did.
Kate McKinnon also stars as the music manager who thinks Jack’s Beatles covers are his own creation.
Yesterday will be produced by Working Title’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner (Les Misérables, Darkest Hour, Bridget Jones’s series), alongside Matt Wilkinson (Kaleidoscope) and Bernie Bellew (Steve Jobs).
Curtis and Boyle will also produce, while Nick Angel and Lee Brazier serve as executive producers.
The film will be released in UK cinemas on 28 June.
