Zac Efron underwent a serious body transformation for Baywatch – and he’s not looking forward to renewing the experience any time soon.

The actor is featured in a recent instalment of the YouTube series Hot Ones, hosted by Sean Evans on the First We Feast channel, during which celebrities answer questions while eating increasingly spicy food.

Evans asked Efron how he approaches various roles from a physical standpoint.

Efron played Matt Brody in the 2017 Baywatch before portraying serial killer Ted Bundy in the 2019 Netflix thriller Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile.

“That was actually a really important time to do Baywatch, because I realised that when I was done with that movie, I don’t ever want to be in that good a shape again. Really,” Efron said.

“It was so hard. You’re working with almost no wiggle room, right?

“You’ve got things like water under your skin that you’re worrying about, like making your six-pack into a four-pack. S*** like that, it’s just not – it’s just stupid.”

The actor, whose recent credits also include The Greatest Showman and The Beach Bum, suggested he might be able to undergo rigorous training again, but only for the right part.

“I’m happy that it worked, I’m happy that it got me through it. I may do it again if it was something worthwhile, but wait until it gets to that,” he added.

“I don’t need to – I’m good.

“Take care of your heart, take care of your brain. You’re good.”
