Director Peter Jackson posted on Facebook that he would pass on presenting the Hobbit films at this weekend's Comic-Con event, despite the film studio's interest.

"I declined, simply because I felt it was too early," he wrote. "There's so much more of the films still to shoot. I've seen various references to the possibility of something Hobbity at Comic-Con. Hate to disappoint anyone. But something tells me we will be there in force next year."

Instead Jackson posted a third video blog on Facebook for everyone to view - not just those attending Comic-Con. The blog opens with Jackson searching for Andy Serkis among the streets and sets at Pinewood Studios' 007 Stage.

The 13-minute production blog consists of a series of the cast's and crew's favorite moments during the shooting of the first block of The Hobbit, including Serkis in Gollum's Cave and an introduction to the dwarves.

Serkis, who co-directed and acted in some of the motion-capture footage, discusses the scenes with Jackson.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and The Hobbit: There and Back Again are scheduled to be released December 14, 2012 and December 13, 2013, respectively.
