US film-maker Doug Block explores marriage in his documentary '112 Weddings'

The US film-maker Doug Block earns extra money shooting wedding videos.

In this documentary, he asks some of his wedding-day subjects what has become of their marriages.

The film's sometimes downbeat tone can't help but evoke memories of Philip Larkin's "The Whitsun Weddings".

There is an obvious poignancy in seeing old wedding footage of blissfully happy couples and then re-encountering them years later after they've had to deal with such matters as sickly kids, professional failure, depression and infidelity.
