The title is horrible, and I'm afraid I didn't find the movie attached to it much better.
The travails of 14-year-old girls have their place, like anyone else's, but they're nothing like as funny or as cute as the writer-director Gurinder Chadha seems to think.
Georgia Groome, so memorable as the runaway in London to Brighton, plays a moody adolescent schoolgirl who is worried about boys, snogging, her next birthday party, and her squabbling parents, in that order. Sweetness alone isn't enough to excuse a sitcom pilot masquerading as a feature, while the girls' coy slang is, to use their words, beyond the valley of the annoying.
