Confetti (15)

A shambolic comedy, made in documentary style and packed with British stars (Martin Freeman from The Office, Stephen Mangan from Green Wing, Felicity Montagu from I'm Alan Partridge, Alison Steadman from just about everything), about a competition to find the most original wedding of the year.

Its virtues include some stock types who expand, as the film goes on, into genuine characters, and a grown-up willingness to set jokes aside in favour of feeling. In the end, though, it feels like a television idea that hasn't really got the muscle to pull it on to the big screen.
