"Fact is, I hate everyone equally," admits Woody Harrelson's dirty cop, Dave Brown.
And that appears to be the case as he rampages around LA in 1999, assaulting people, and shooting others. The LAPD, understandably, want this charismatic lunatic to retire, but he won't go quietly. There's an impressive roll-call of cameos – from Steve Buscemi, Sigourney Weaver, Ned Beatty, Robin Wright – in Oren Moverman's angry, unsettling drama, scripted by James Ellroy. However, this is Harrelson's film and he's sensational in it.
