More neck biters, only this time by the seaside – and the Hastings setting is pretty much the only thing to recommend about this dozy horror. A mother (Gemma Arterton) and daughter (Saiorse Ronan) are vampires who have survived by their wits for 200 years. The mum meets a lonely guest-house owner (Daniel Mays) and decides to run his property as a knocking shop. Ronan is compelling, as always, in that eerie stillness that she's patented, but her character is ill-thought out and Arterton's is woeful.
