“I think I need to call child services and have Leslie taken away from herself,” quips Ann (Rashida Jones) to camera. Please don't. Amy Poehler's confused, unlucky-in-love Leslie grows to be even more adorable in this excellent US sitcom.

Here the local bureaucrat in Pawnee, Indiana champions gay penguins, rocks up to a first date (with Louis CK's cop) blotto and saves a bothersome possum. Poehler is ably supported by Chris Pratt's socially awkward shoe shiner and Nick Offerman's unhinged boss. Gentle, beautifully observed comedy.
