A trio of cavemen (including a young Ron Perlman) are beset by lions, Neanderthals, cannibals and wolves on their perilous (clearly) search for (and understanding of) fire. The woolly mammoths are jolly nice to them, though. There's a lot of grunting and a fair bit of bad teeth (a quest for a decent dentist?) in Jean-Jacques engaging, witty and beautifully shot (mainly in the Cairngorms) adventure from 1981. It's certainly the best cavemen picture ever made, and a sweet love story too.
