“People hate people, times have changed,” barks John Goodman’s salesman in the only half-decent line in this desperate comedy, which reunites “dream team” Owen Wilson (looking ineffably sad) and Vince Vaughn (looking shattered) as two fast-talking, on-their-uppers salesmen who blag their way on to an internship with Google.
Besides the endless, dismal promotion of the search engine, this is a tired exercise, in which Will Ferrell cameos as a lewd mattress salesman and Rose Byrne tries her very best as an uptight workaholic.
Wilson, after his adroit turn in Midnight in Paris, really doesn’t need to do this nonsense any more.
